SPECS founder and president, Marie Josée Trempe, was a guest on the “Bien entendu” podcast hosted by Stéphan Bureau and presented by by Radio-Canada / Ohdio. Together they discussed the realities of working as model in this day and age.
“Very few models today have the opportunity for a long-lasting career,’ notes Marie-Josée Trempe, founder and director of Specs agency. The former makeup artist, a pioneer in Quebec’s fashion scene, explains that the industry, here as elsewhere, has changed significantly in recent years, notably due to social media and the rise of influencers. The era when many models lived the high life and rolled in wealth is largely over. Nowadays, only 20% of those who enter this career manage to live well.
